Hi misc@, I'd like to let you know that Charles Longeau (chl@) has done an awesome job at making OpenSMTPD available to other systems for those who just do not have the choice of their operating system and want an alternative to the other MTA.
The portable version currently runs on all *BSD, including Dragonfly; it also runs on several Linux distributions and a port for MacOSX is in the works. Portable version is not lagging behind, it will provide about the same user experience if you omit the few features we have on OpenBSD and that can't be ported easily.
