First thing with any OS is to know where to find help and asking for
help on completely different OS pages/lists is not good start for sure
;-) NetBSD has superb docs as well so instead of jumping over various
OS in virtualization which leads nowhere try to choose one OS and
learn it properly. Then you can do something.

If you're using NetBSD then you know about this
http://www.netbsd.org/docs/pkgsrc/ which will say you what you need.
As well using NetBSD 6.0 beta2 will be better for NetBSD as well so
you can test and pkgin will be already in your system.
