Hi I did a little research on the net and i would like to share with you what i found. First of all Gnome 3 dont work under OpenBSD at least for me when compiled from the port it loops and compile the same portion of code all the time. Second when installed from packages gnome instals but when started falls in to fallback mode. Third when compiling from jhbuild there are errors after doing make. What might be the problem ? Solution might be a DRM driver ( Direct Rendering Manager ) there are only drivers for vga radeon and intel 915 in generic kernel. I Tried it on intel cpu + nvidia GPU and other system zacate platform with built in cpu radeon 6000. Both fallback mode - the same problem. The site i get on openports.se has the link provided with distfile repo is ok but it contains 2.81 wersion of Gnome not 3.4.2 as written on the page.
Have any of you was able to run gnome 3 on OpenBSD ? Could i help somehow it works for this secure system. I am not a good programer but i would like to start to help/support some open source project. Regards Tomek
