I've just had a play with those, but no joy. As you say, as I'm not a
multicast router then it shouldn't be anything to do with them.

I run 5.0 on other boxes and carp works fine on top of a physical
interface. This is the first time I've run carp on top of a vlan interface.
I would appear that it is the vlan part that is somehow messing
with multicast packets.
