As a workaround, modify the staff class (which your user should be part of) with these values: openfiles-cur=1024 openfiles-max=2048 maxproc-cur=512 maxproc-max=1024 And increase maxproc to 1024 in your .xsession (ulimit -Sp 1024). Cheers, David
