I have used iperf on OpenBSD 4.9 to run get some quick basic numbers and experiment with jumbo frames. My test also involved a Windows system, so the cross-platform part was nice. Haven't used tcpbench before, but it is built-in to recent OpenBSD systems and looks pretty nice according to the man page.
