It's simple. Use current/snapshots. All servers like Youtube and similar changes their interface a lot so you must try to be close to that as much as possible and it means actual versions of some apps as much as possible. On current you can watch HTML5 just fine with eg. xxxterm, Youtube with Minitube or via youtube-dl, Youtube and a lot of other servers with get_flash_videos
