It may well not be worth the effort to fix if it is broken, especially considering the difficulties IPV6 has brought. Have you tried current out of interest. IPV6 commenting has broken the build before assuming that is the single thing that was changed and it builds now when uncommented. I completely disagree with damn stupid, it is obviously the most reliable method to disable ipv6 and the archives (ppp) add weight to this. You should ALWAYS /bin/cp -p GENERIC to a new file if you make changes though, that could waste a lot of devs precious time.
