I'm not sure what the solution is then. I can say that in the normal mode (or enhanced mode) Linux was able to find the disks and use them, so the OpenBSD driver might just need an
update to handle this seemingly goofy controller.

Might be worth looking to see if there's a jumper to change the controllers mode.
