why not? all you should care about is that you can talk to the blocks on your disk, how you get to them is hopefully not important. the reason is sata disks still respond to ata commands, and a lot of sata controllers appear as largely compatible to a traditional ata controller supported by the legacy ata stack. just luck i guess :) dlg
