What's the actual problem you're having? A description of where you get in the boot process might suggest something. There are likely other ways than hacking tftpd (tcpdump might be a good start if you're trying to debug PXE problems or identify the requested filenames).

One thing I remember is that some PXE clients are sensitive to the order of DHCP parameters... (ugh!!!)
