your problem screams after better hardware. kernel tweaking will bring you
an unstable system, grey hair, insomnia, smelling underwear and if you are 
lucky 1-2% gain in performance. no one will be able to help you, if something
goes wrong.

if you got a high interrupt load, take better nics. if you got no cpu
left, take
a better one. obviously, the wrap boxes aren't built for that kind of 
performance. you can make a racing lawnmower out of a lawnmower 
by tinkering and losing you warranty, but it'll still be a lawnmower.
