I'm running a Debian cluster with 2 machines, one is a mail server (Cyrus) and another is a database and file server. If one machine fails, the remaining machine automagicly takes over its services within a few seconds. If the failed machine is up again, the services go back to it. The cluster is based on heartbeat and drbd. Thanks to drbd the data on both machines is always in sync - it's like RAID1 over network. I have it for over a year now and I'm very happy with it. I wish there were something similar for OpenBSD ;-) Holger Mauermann
