The wonderful thing about using the GENERIC kernel is that it'll work on any box with supported hardware. The only thing I can think of that you may have to compensate for is any network cards that might be different. If all your using is the onboard LAN, and no addon cards, then that should even be the same. I might have forgotten something, but I'm sure someone else will reply with anything I've missed.
