yes.

you can create eth0:X interfaces all you want in linux, dhcpd will still
only run one shared network on the physical interface; eth0, as it
cannot work with interface aliases, only physical interfaces.

i would assume (i've not tried this myself) that if you create two VLAN
interfaces on a single physical ethernet interface, and plug the
ethernet interface into a trunk port on a VLAN capable switch, and put
each layer3 subnet on its own layer2 VLAN, that it should work.  should
be a good learning experience either way.
