For example, if you have NVIDIA hw and looking to work on nouveau: https://trello.com/b/ZudRDiTL/nouveau . For i965, http://wiki.freedesktop.org/dri/I965Todo/ . I suspect other drivers have similar lists, but I don't know where they are. A lot of discussion happens on freenode (IRC), so feel free to join #dri-devel and/or some of the more driver-specific channels like #nouveau, #radeon, #intel-gfx.
