I went ahead and tested this with Ubuntu as well:
For ubuntu users you'll need this to compile it:
sudo apt install libglu1-mesa-dev freeglut3-dev mesa-common-dev
I also tested this on a system with an nvidia 1050 ti using proprietary drivers
just to be sure it did not interfere. The shim did not affect the nvidia driver
from running the game. Thus it would be safe for them to ship this fix with the
game..
