I kinda hacked something up real quick. I don't think it would be hard to implement, although I started wondering about it. Part of what makes File so special is that it always works no matter what directory you're in. I don't think that th right thing is to be able to us them in string.format, but to be able to pass them as a linker or compiler argument, and have that do the right thing with them.
