Power8 can operate in either little-endian (PPC64LE) or big-endian
(PPC64) mode. RHEL, Fedora, etc. support both.
I've been focusing on Power8 because:
1) it's what I'm more familiar with;
2) we mostly see the same problems on PPC64(BE) and S390.
