Maybe too much memory > was used and kernel OOM killer was unleashed? > Perfectly possible, although I doubt it since - SWR + Autotools has no issues - building SCons + SWR alongside Chromium with two dozen tabs, barely reaches 2.5G while the instance should have 4GiB.
