I accidently found this issue while executing demos randomly from mesa demos.
Listing down my gpu information:
OpenGL renderer string: Mesa DRI Intel(R) Sandybridge Mobile x86/MMX/SSE2
OpenGL version string: 2.1 Mesa 7.12-devel (git-3996ed5)
snippet of dmesg log which shows the GPU hang.
