It would require backporting all changes from master which are needed for LLVM
3.9. If any of them are missed, there might be subtle issues.
Personally, I think it's not worth bothering. The next major Mesa release
shouldn't be too far away, and distros tend to take a while to build Mesa
against new LLVM releases anyway.
