Three things. MSVC sucks pretty hard at life. As long as Win32 is a target for Mesa and Gallium, we might as well put in extra effort to keep ourselves portable. However...
Currently, i915g, r300g, nvfx, etc. are not built for Win32/Win64 anyway, because they have no winsys/kernel piece on that platform. Certainly those drivers could be cleaned up on an as-needed basis, but... Apparently, there are other OSes out there (Haiku, Syllable, AROS, Hurd) that are either working on adapting to Gallium, or are actively using it. Given that this kind of portability was one of the original goals of Gallium, I'd say that we should keep our PIPE_ARCH_ stuff and try very hard to build on just about everything. ~ C. -- When the facts change, I change my mind.
