Hi,

We were discussing doing another sprint in Leipzig.

For those unfamiliar with the concept, a sprint in the context of open source projects is an event where developers and users of the project meet for a few days, usually in person, to work on aspects of the project chosen in advance and / or at the sprint, especially those who profit from the focused approach in contrast to open source’s usual distributed nature. Also, it’s a great opportunity to get to know each other. This sprint will be slightly different from the release sprints done in the past, therefore we call them “mini” sprints.

I can offer an office space in Leipzig for up to 10 people for a few days. Leipzig is easy to reach by train from Berlin (75min), Frankfurt (3h) and Paris (7–9h).

Pierre-Yves contacted me a few days ago suggesting to do the sprint on September 21th and 22th because he’ll likely be nearby in the days before. Doing it a few days longer would also be possible. This might be too short-term. We can also do it at another time. If you’re interested in attending, please let me know when you have time this year and what would be your preferred duration of the sprint. If there’s interest, we can make virtual attendence possible for part of the sprint.

-Manuel
