Allen, We teach our nursing staff to NEVER change the status of any admission intervention until all information has been collected. Since the intervention continues to come due, if you have default directions defined, this serves as their reminder. We also encourage them to use the supplemental text to communicate what information is needed.
Hope this helps, Kenny Whiteside Kenny Whiteside BSN, RN Patient Care Information Systems Catawba Valley Medical Center 810 Fairgrove Church Road Hickory, NC 28602 [EMAIL PROTECTED] >>> "Allen Vining" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> 08/06/2007 8:51:44 PM >>> When our initial Admission assessments are done, often the nurse does not have all of the necessary information. For example, the patient may not have a list of his/her home meds. The nurse must leave blank. Is there some way that this information can go to the status board or somewhere as a reminder that it needs to be completed when information is available. Also with Advance directives and adding admission consent when no one is available. Family sometimes brings items later. Thanks! Allen What can I.T. do for you?
