Hi Paul,

Magic 5.5 introduces the TAR (Transfusion Administration Record) in the NUR
module. As part of this, there is a column available for the NUR Status Board
that displays a Green "Ready" flag whenever a unit of blood is crossmatched.
Once issued from the BBK, the flag changes to "Issued". If using the TAR to
document the transfusion, the flag becomes "Trans" for Transfusing once
documented as started. You can even display the next due vital sign time...
but we have some issues with this as it is based on the time the last vitals
were taken... not when they are due!

Hope this helps,
Kenny Whiteside

I normally don't work with the NUR module, but for those sites with BBK also -
after patient type & screen results are flagged as new results on the Status
Board, is there a way to indicate on the Status Board that crossmatched units
are ready for transfusion? We just went LIVE with BBK this week and do not have
all the NUR-BBK link functionality set up yet. If we can't make crossmatched
units ready for transfusion appear as new results, I'll probably look at
clinical notifications to send a printout to the floor if I can't get Lab staff
to print a crossmatch card to the floor.
Thanks,
Paul
