We do not print labels but we do use the category of CONSULT and have
created a PATH order with questions and 2 pages (the initial screen asks
for diagnosis, procedure performed, frozen section?, call to ext and the
collection date & time of the specimen).

When that is filed the back page has places for 6 specimens (A through
F) and a comments box. When the completed order is filed it prints a
copy to the printer attached to that PC and this is the req that comes
to the lab with specimens.

The Histo personnel then accession the specimens into the PTH module and
obtain a number.

Subject: [MEDITECH-L] Order Entry for Pathology specimens

We are looking at Order Entry for PTH specimens. I wanted to know if
anyone has figured out how to have label with or without a barcode print
for these orders. I am not able to get label or even a piece paper to
print, I have heard some people have a NPR report that can print a
label. Can anyone share this with me?

Thanks,
