We are using Pending orders for various reasons.  We are using eMAR, and it is 
a very effective tool for communicating to nursing that pharmacy has gotten the 
order, but something needs clarification.
Without eMAR, I'm sure there are some uses, but you probably already have 
procedures in place.  What I can offer is a better way to remove the pending.  
Why PENDING = Unverified?  I don't know, I don't agree, but it is something we 
must live with.
So the fastest way to remove a pending is to use VEC- or Verify, Edit, Cancel 
from process orders.  Once in VEC,Go to edit, and mouse click on the pending 
field and enter a "N".  Enter your comment and file.  The pharmacist is then 
immediately prompted with the verify screen.
