We are a Meditech hospital utilizing the Meditech 5.5sr2 server. Our Physicians will soon be using POM. One of our concerns is how consults are handled in terms of contacting the consultant. Currently our process is that the physician writes the order and a secretary calls the office of the doctor who is being consulted. What process does your facility use when the physicians are ordering through POM? How is the consulted doctor notified of the new consult?
