Susan,

We have both single-user and multiple-user environments in our clinics. We
have not deployed single-sign on in the hospitals yet. So, for example,
only one person can be logged in at a time at the nurses station device.
Whereas in our exam rooms, up to five people can be logged on at the same
time. We typically have no more than two logged on and sometimes only the
provider. And those two people could be covering 2 or 3 or more exam rooms.
They should be signed on in each of the rooms they might be in. A typical
scenario is a nurse would have one or two sessions up at the desk and one
session up in each of her two exam rooms. Then she might be helping out in
another clinic and needs one up there. She would need to be allowed at
least five Meditech sessions in her user profile to be able to have all
those sessions open, but she would still have HealthCast on all of them.

So it really depends on how many log-on sessions are set up per user in
Meditech's MIS user dictionary. We usually give our users 3 log on sessions
in their profiles. In the event they help out in other areas frequently, we
have permitted them up to 5 sessions or not limited how many sessions they
can have up. That is more Meditech-specific than HealthCast Specific.

Thanks!

Does Healthcast give you the ability to roam to other devices in the
hospital - keeping your session up for a specific amount of time?

Thanks,

We also are Magic 5.6 with HealthCast. They have been very supportive to
us and made changes to our wrapper programming in a timely manner when we
upgraded to the 4.2x workstation. We use it for at least a dozen
applications in various access groups.

Thanks!

We are using HealthCast and have been very happy with their support (the
nice thing is they are only for Healthcare). We are magic 5.6

Hello All,

Has anyone had any experience with the Meditech Single Sign On parameter?
If so, can you share your Pros & Cons with us?

Has anyone implemented or seen any Single Sign On solutions outside of
Meditech that allowed your users to sign into the Windows OS and any other
application the user has access to?

We've seen literature for Imprivata, IM-One, and Centillion (please forgive
spelling on any of those).... However, there have been no reference sites
provided for any of them and we are anxious to speak with Meditech - Magic
sites using any of them.

Thank you,
Scott White
