Hello everyone,

Here is a message I submitted to the Meditech Physician Forum webpage.
If any of you can shed some light on this topic, it would be of huge
appreciation!

Best wishes,

Courtney

We are a 5.5 SR2 site that is LIVE with our pilot group (our Geri-Psych
unit) for POM. We have approximately ten to twelve physicians using it
and approximately ten to twelve nurses using it.

There's a huge debate going on between our Pharmacy and our Physicians
as to who should be responsible for interaction and conflict checking.

Our Pharmacy staff says the Docs should do it and vice versa.

Currently, on Geri-Psych our doctors are doing it with POM and they find
it to be incredibly tedious.

On all our other units that are not LIVE with POM, our pharmacy staff
does it after the doctor's order is faxed to the pharmacy.

Does anyone, Doctor or Pharmacist, have any opinions on this? Who truly
should be doing the interaction and conflict checking?

Thank you in advance!
