Hi Pat, With a Mix request, you just submit it and Meditech reviews it
and decides with development if it should be a future enhancement.. we
do not necessarily get it provided in an upcoming release. The more
requests that Meditech receives from various health care organizations,
the more likely they will take action (I believe). If this is something
that your site struggles with and you are interested in a future
enhancement, please log request. If you do not know how to do this,
please call me and I can assist. (401) 456-6501. Thanks!!

Thanks,

Liz

Hi All, I submitted a MIX request to enhance the other provider
field within ADM to work like the ordering provider within RAD/ITS but
with an additional line for NPI#. Please see the following for more
details:

MIX Enhancement:

ADM #5275118

I submitted this for CS. Please request this as well if this is
an issue for your health care organization please submit a mix request
as well.

        Thanks,

        Liz

We have an issue with turn-around times to get new providers
in... we have a separate RIS, and they say that a 24 hour turnaround to
get new providers in is too long.

Do others have a TAT for these new providers?

        Cheryl,

I respectfully disagree. It seems your facility has determined
that the provider dictionary is best handled by the billing department
and that is great. However the provider dictionary has a lot to do with
credentialing. It also has a lot to do with Admissions, Lab, Pharmacy,
OR, Order Entry, Departmental, EDM, POM, Abstracting, etc.

I would venture to guess that a majority of organizations have
the provider dictionary additions done by credentialing. They (should)
have all the correct information on the physicians and if they don't it
is their job to get it.

We set up an advisory group to set policies and procedures
concerning the provider dictionary. The group included the module
coordinators for several of the aforementioned departments. In this way
we were able to have accurate information entered by the credentialing
office in a consistent format.

Fortunately for us our credentialing office is responsive to the
need to have providers entered quickly when necessary. If they were
haphazard as another post reported theirs are, they would have to find
another position.
