There is a argument that is assigned to the DISCHARGE observation menu option. Perhaps it isn't attached to all the user's menus. I had this same problem a couple of versions ago. The argument is "ENDISINO" for us. It is attached on the Observation discharge routine on the ADM menu and is associated with the DPM.procedure ADM.PAT.dis.dep.rev.trans.driver. Hope this helps. Every so often (about once a week) when the Registration staff attempts to discharge an Observation patient (from the bed in which the patient spent the night) they tell me they go to the Discharge option under the Observation Patient Routines and either enter the account number for the patient or search for the patient by name. Meditech however does not allow the Registrar to select the patient from the list that appears (no number in fron of the name.) So IT gets called. I then log on to Meditech and discharge the Observation patient without any problem. I keep asking them if they are using the Discharge option under the Observation Patient Routines, and they assure me they are. I ask them to call me when this happens (I'll believe it when I see it). Today I got the call and before I got over there the manager was suddenly able to discharge the patient. Has anyone else out there seen this? Is there a DTS we missed with the 5.6 upgrade? (It would not be the first.) Thank you in advance for your assistance. Joan M.
