I have been asked by our Pt Financial Director to post this to see how

Sandi;
Here is what I am looking for:

Dear Colleagues:

It is our understanding of the regulations related to PQRI (Physician
Quality Reporting Initiative) that this is a voluntary reporting
beginning 7/1/07to 12/31/2007. It is also our understanding that
participants will receive an additional 1.5% reimbursement above the
Medicare Fee Schedule.

Currently our HIM staff perform the coding for our ER physician services
only. However, we provide services in other areas covered by this
program, specifically; nutritionists, clinc MD, social workers, physical
and occupational therapists for 1500 billing.

As you can guess this would cause a very large unanticipated work load
for this staff as they do not currently code these services.

Please confirm if it is also your understanding that the PQRI program is
voluntary so that we can make a more informed decision about how we will
process these changes.

If you have chosen to participate what processes have you engaged to
capture and report the required modifiers needed by CMS.

Thank you for your response

thanks
