Thank-you, Alan.

For those of us who are not lucky enough to get to San Diego... will
this be available post-conference, on the MUSE
website?

5.6

Herb - We are going live with 5.6 on 6/10. There isn't really a whole
lot
new except with linked orders you now have 2 choices, concurrent and
alternating. Concurrent means that you would give both medications at
the
same time whereas alternating is for something like Digoxin 0.125 mg
every
other day alternating with 0.25 mg every other day. The user has to
pick
one.
A minor change is that when you copy and edit an order, you get a
prompt
as to whether or not to maintain historical links. Not a big deal.
We are not e-MAR or POM yet, but there were a lot of them. The
main
thing that I see is charting units, so one doesn't have to build a drug
like
an eye drop so many drops per ml in the drug dictionary any longer.
When you
zero dose, you can enter the charting unit.
Other than that, I haven't seen a lot. I believe most of the
efforts are
being devoted to e-MAR and POM and whatever functionality that you see
changing in pharmacy is because of that. But, I'll be there and can
answer
any other questions.

5.6

For MUSE international, PHA has several show and tells. However, no
one has
mentioned anything about 5.6. If someone has experience with 5.6 (The
Good,
the Bad and the Ugly), please feel free to share your experiences at
the PHA
Show & Tell or Jam Session.

Thanks - Herb
