We are a C/S site preparing to go live with ISBT labeling April 2008 and have the following question: Our blood supplier has over 30 FIN's associated with it due to the various blood draw sites it has. Our transfusion service would like to identify all of the FINs as one source, (Central Blood Bank (CBB)) and add these as barcodes under ISBT symbology in the source dictionary, however we are only able to add one barcode per symbology in that dictionary. Meditech is telling us the we have to build each FIN as a source. How are other sites handling this issue? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!
