We are a CS site that utilizes the Meditech OR Module Our core team involved OR nurses, and two persons from the IS department - See below for answers Hi All, I think I asked this question a few years ago for sites that have Meditech ORM or Picis OR Manager, but we have a new OR Director and this question is coming up again. Who at your site handles in the OR the physician's block time, scheduling dictionaries, reporting , completion of cases, verifying supply charges from exception editing and Preference Cards (creating, editing, maintaining, make sure new items are adding to inventory)? Managed by the Core Team OR staff (there are 3 nurses) Do you have a super user that the OR nurses will go to first before IS and who works with IS for updates and changes. (yes - 3 OR nurses) Do you have one person in this position or more then one person sharing these responsibilities? As secondary assistance the OR Core Team members usually contact me (clinical Analyst) if they have an issue related to system functionality - I do not maintain any of there dictionaries related to the OR - I do build and maintain all the custom screens for them that are utilized within the OR module. I also coordinate/open any issues with Meditech - updating the OR as to the findings. Also, do you have job descriptions for this position in the OR that you are willing to share? No specific job description - they are nurses that have been selected to assist with the system. We have the Unit Manager of OR , the Unit Manager of Endo, and a staff nurse, - I do believe these are the same nurses that were involved in our previous OR system. I believe they also used a couple of surgical techs to assist when building initial dictionaries - now the dictionaries are maintained by 2-3 OR staff. Supply charges, verification of cases is usually completed by the OR Unit Clerk. Thank you in advance for any help.
