Since I'm stuck with an interface programming error by Meditech for the time being, we've moved on with barcoding and validation. I created a new barcode symbology (CODABAR) since the standard ones gave an error when trying to scan our blood bag numbers. After doing so, I got the scanned barcodes to plug in the correct information for source, blood type, and expiration date. I'm having issues with the product barcode and unit number. Product barcode simply rejects and the first 2 characters of the unit number are converted from numeric to alpha characters ( I remember working with a translation table with another vendors software a few years ago to convert from alpha to numeric) . I would appreciate some assistance (guidance) in what to look at to resolve these issues. Thanks, Paul
