Hello all:
It seems that with the 5.6 DTS LAB 13636, order rules written in LAB are
no longer evaluated when OE orders are entered. The OE order is
verified, then is rejected by LAB if it fails the rule, and at that
point the OE user will see a cancellation message if they review the
order. The Meditech documentation for the DTS reads:

"Previously in LAB, when an Order Rule failed in LAB for orders coming
from Order Entry (OE), the cancellation message in OE did not display
the order rule mnemonic. This was corrected. Cancellation messages now
display correctly."

Am I missing something here? In our current Magic 5.5 setup, if the OE
order fails the LIS rule, the OE user immediately sees the rejection
message and isn't allowed to complete the order. So, a cancellation
message doesn't exist in OE in the first place because there is no
order. I think now we'll need to have the rule present in both OE and
in LAB to retain our current functionality. Has anyone else had
problems with this, or asked Meditech to remove this DTS?

Thanks very much,
