Hello Meditech-Lers!
I'm also struggling to figure out how best to set up RXM/AOM for
Medication Reconciliation. We are about to implement EDM and I'd like to
have the users document the patient's at-home med list shortly after the Go
LIVE for EDM. We have also purchased POM and PDoc. We do NOT have the
Physician Desktop (PWM) application for the full PCM Suite. If you look at
the 5.61 manual for RXM/AOM on Meditech's PCM product and resource page,
there are some really cool features for converting inpatient meds to at-home
meds and for converting prescriptions. Unfortunately, since we don't own
the full PCM suite we cannot get to these functions. It's almost as if
Meditech is selling RXM but forcing us to buy PCM in order to use all of the
functionality of RXM????
Anyway, I'm hoping some of you out there have figured out how to
make RXM work for medication reconciliation without having to purchase the
Physician Desktop to do it. We are looking to have an at-home medication
list on admission, the current inpatient section will capture the meds given
while an inpatient and then we'd like to have a section where we can
document which meds the patient will be taking at home upon discharge. We
do not want to update the original at-home med list collected on admission.
Our concern is that if we change the at-home medication section upon
discharge, then we can't go back and review what the patient reported on
admission. I know that we can print the active medication list but if we
lose that piece of paper...then what?
Please contact me if you have come up with a good process and
would like to share. Any help you can provide will be extremely
appreciated!!! Thanks!!!
