Pam,

We are Magic 5.4 SR3 and we have Kronos Workforce 4.3 (upgrading to 5.2
next month or so).

Our vendor, M.M.Hayes, provided an interface application for the two to
pass data back and forth.

Each night, a custom NPR report is scheduled to run and includes all
employees with their basic information. It is ftp'd to a location
accessible to the Kronos server.

Each early morning, a scheduled job on the Kronos server grabs the file
and 'creates' any new employees and 'updates' (name changes, department
changes, address changes, etc) existing employees. New employees are
given a 'standard' payrule. HR then goes in the next day and changes
them if necessary (40 hour overtime agreement, Exempt, ED physician,
etc).

We do the above again around 11am.

Each payroll period, we run a routine in the interface application that
creates the timecard file in the format that Meditech requires for
import. Then, we run payroll in Meditech (using the Create Timecards O/V
routines).

We don't calculate accruals in Kronos (didn't purchase that module). So,
after payroll is processed, Accounting runs a custom NPR report for
Non-termed employees only with their updated accrual balances. This is
ftp'd to the same location used for employee imports. At 3pm on payroll
day, a scheduled job on the Kronos server grabs the file and updates the
accrual balances for all active employees.

Hope this helps.

Subject: [MEDITECH-L] interfacing from meditech to kronos

Do any of you use kronos and meditech MAGIC? If so, how do you
transfer data between the two and what versions of each are you using?
We're challenged with keeping the two synch'd and would appreciate any
feedback. Thanks.
