We are challenged with how to set up an automatic ICR deficiency link when the provider has not started a report. The DPT link to ICR starts with the DPT report and automatically creates and completes a deficiency when the report is presented to DPT and the signature is applied in PCI. Does anyone have an automatic/electronic method for when the report, such as a Discharge Summary, is missing? According to Meditech we will need to manually create the deficiencies and manually complete the deficiencies for these missing reports. This increases the amount of intervention on the part of Medical Records Analysis and could result in the provider getting charged twice for the same deficiency.
