Since I have had so many requests: We don't have a document with workflow, but here is the process: Surgeon contacts Pathologist and requests image. Pathologist has microscope with digital camera and can take a picture of a slide, or has a
digital camera and can take a picture of the gross. This image is saved in a file folder and is named the path number. The image is attached to the report by the path transcriptionist or by the histo tech. The pathologist will leave a message in the dictation requesting the transcriptionist do this with any annotation needed. In the lab params on page 5 (we are magic 5.4), there is a spot for the file folder path, plus you have to do some form set-up. So, I had to have our network guys set up a file on the network to hold all this image data. See Update Documentation on Meditech for DTS 11182. I think these are all the DTS: 12142,12483,13009,13568,13059,12972,14021 btw: the path image project was almost a year long task with Meditech. We are also trying to set up the section for scanning a path consult report. This is set up in Test, but we have had a task open with Meditech for a long time for them to help us make the report look better.
