Hi Carla, Our docs login remotely using a Cisco VPN client. They are able to view PACS images from PCI but we have to install the PACS viewer software on their remote PC first. We are Magic 5.5 using AMICAS PACS. We are looking at alternatives to having to install the VPN client, MEDITECH, and PACS viewer software on the remote PCs. We think using Citrix may solve this issue, since the software can be installed on the Citrix server. I'd be happy to hear how other hospitals are handling this.
In our OR we are using the Ergotron Styleview dual display cart, powered: http://www.ergotron.com/ProfessionalProducts/Carts/tabid/158/ctl/Product /mid/544/PRDID/77/language/en-US/default.aspx The wireless PC is a Dell Small Form Factor PC with dual display using the Dell Ultrasharp 2007FP monitors. We bought the Ergotron from Dell also. The IS department installed and supports them along with our PACS administrator. They are dedicated to the OR suites and move them into whichever OR room they are needed. The docs have been very happy with them. What brand and sizes did you use? Did IS or engineering install these or did you use a separate outside company with experience in this type of project?
