Our docs will be able to view images through PCI when they are on our network, but we have been unable to figure out if there is a way to make this happen when they access us via remote access (we use Net Access). Has anyone been able to figure this out or do remote access users have to go directly into the PACS system itself and cannot go through Meditech? Our 2nd dilemma/question relates to OR equipment. Do you have a biomed/engineering dept that makes sure everything you put into a patient care area is hospital grade equipment (I know stupid question, we all do I suppose, but it is a lead in for the rest of my questions)? What type of PCs and monitors did you put into your OR? Do you have static mounted PCs, wireless PCs and/or monitors to position anywhere the doctor may be standing, ceiling or wall mounted arms to pull the monitor wherever it may be needed for viewing? What brand and sizes did you use? Did IS or engineering install these or did you use a separate outside company with experience in this type of project?
