Clay, As Meditech stated, the only way to get a different letter in the account number formation is to create separate facilities although multiple facilities can certainly point to one corporation. Any reports you have can be either combined to include all facilities or separated out to include only specific facilities. An alternative would be to differentiate between the "sites" via the Service/Location dictionaries. Some sites choose a letter prefix, such as the "V" you are referring to to identify the "facility or site" within those dictionaries. In the B/AR Module you could build separate account types by restricting to those "site" specific service/locations (could utilize a facility or site identifying letter prefix here too). To take this all one step further an identifying number can be added to the corporation field in the account type dictionary if GL has different account numbers in their chart of accounts based on "facility or site" but only if the number formation fits into the existing structure. To give you more food for thought, if you are considering the use of revenue site functionality then you would have to create multiple facilities. I would say your options probably depend on why your organization needs to differentiate between "site specific" patients. For example, Kenly is one of our sites; we want all patients to have a "V#" of K000000147589 instead of V000000147589. I spoke to MEDITECH about this and they told me we would need to create new facilities for the different sites. Well, we don't want to create different facility sites. We want all of them under our 01 corporation. Has anyone run into this same issue? If so, can you provide feedback on how the process was handled? Also, if we are unable to use the different V#s, is there another way you are distinguishing the difference between sites? We are C/S 5.5 sr2 Thanks for all feedback! Clay H.
