Position Summary:
Primary Division Clinical Analyst and system expert for MEDITECH Magic module—PCD/Nursing. Responsible for support and implementation of division development, standardization and utilization activities. Serves as ultimate division SME in clinical IT support area of expertise (PCD/NUR). Coordinate division-wide dictionary management, testing of application upgrades and fixes. Ensure adherence to division and HCA policies regarding PHI, security, HIPAA and appropriate access requirements. Actively support and promote division system standardization and utilization activities. Actively participate as member of the division clinical support team. Build and maintain division community in area of application specialization.
General Education Development:
Clinical background, Bachelor’s preferred.
Licensing or credentials within the specific clinical specialty is preferred, if available.
Experience: (Required and Preferred)
The individual should have experience in clinical application support and should have clinical operations and process understanding and expertise in the specific area they support---PCD and Nursing.
Job Responsibilities:
1) In role of clinical application/MEDITECH module expert, provide user support and system maintenance for assigned module(s) and clinical applications for all division hospitals. Document and monitor system problems, conduct problem analyses, and provide/communicate timely and accurate resolution of problems. Coordinate module updates and conduct Division-level module testing for HCA Hospitals.
2) Work with each facility based NUR analyst to coordinate IT changes and education.
3) Work with the Division Clinical Analyst team to implement new software releases.
4) Work with the Division Clinical Analyst team to provide module support for new installations.
5) Work with the Division Clinical Analyst team to identify and promote division goals.
6) Provide training to division support staff and others as appropriate.
7) Promote system security and patient confidentiality.
8) Participate in quality audits related to system use.
9) Works with the facility to manage the implementation of best practices within the specialty area
10) Participate in special projects as needed.
