Hi Laura,

You could break your assessment up into sections or pages and use an
REQ or REQI attribute on each query within that section that requires a
response if the first query in that section/page is answered. If the
user hasn't answered the first query in the section/page, then the rest
of the section/page would not be required thus allowing the user to file
the CDS.

The problem I can see with this is how can you be sure that someone
comes back to complete the rest of the assessment? You could write an
NPR report and schedule it to run at regular times. The report could
evaluate to determine if the first required query on the CDS has a
response but the last one does not. That would identify incomplete
assessments. Then print this report to someone (unit charge nurse
perhaps) and list the patient, filing nurse, etc. This person would
then be responsible to ensure that the assessment is completed.

Hope this helps,
Kenny Whiteside

Hello, I know I had received an answer from the L-LINE for an
attribute
that would allow users to file a CDS as long as they had not entered
PAST a
REQ Field. Need for long nursing assessment, so users can go back in &
finish CDS without losing data. Thanks in advance,
