We are going live with EDM 08/29 and now the question has come up about patients signing their discharge instructions and having that copy in chart. We are not going to print chart but send it to our electronic medical record - Chartmaxx (medplus). We will document that the patient received and understood instructions but not have signed copy in chart. What are others doing. Any idea of legal ramifications? Any help appreciated. Thanks Susan
