We're using the Visioneer Strobe XP200. The cost is about $200 each. Just about the time we implemented Valco in January 2006, they completed testing on the XP300, which is a duplex scanner. I understand that the XP300 will cost about $300. As we have to replace the 200s, we'll go with the 300 (my plan!). I don't know if the 200s are particularly stout, robust or dependable. Of the 14 that we bought at the beginning of our implementation, three quickly mal-functioned for one reason or another. That's almost a 25% deficiency rate, plus $600-$900 replacement cost.
